[A Year in Qatar]

For the 2009-10 school year, I am a physics TA for premed students at Weill Cornell Medical College in Doha, Qatar. Basically I plan on doing everything and going everywhere in the next year, and if you want to read about it, you're in the right place. Enjoy— and comment often!

Happy 4th of July

I realized that I have not seen Independence Day fireworks in a while.  My last few July 4ths have been away from home:

  • 2010: Riding the bus from Blönduós to Ísafjörður, Iceland
  • 2009: Rocking out at the Roskilde Festival, Denmark
  • 2008: Chilling with the family in Santa Fe, New Mexico

Also, it was the coldest July 4th I’ve ever experienced.  In the afternoon we passed a gas station sign that said it was 5 C = 41 F.  And it was windy, overcast and drizzling.  It felt about to snow.  Of course after A Year In Qatar I’m not complaining… but I wish I had brought my winter coat, and not just a denim jacket!
